B-1 Temporary Visitor for Business Visa

There are people who wish to enter the U.S. for specific reasons and one of those reasons may be for business. There is a specific visa type for this and applying for this kind of a visa is subject to certain terms and conditions that have been set by the U.S. government. Since this is a temporary visa, you will need to present a few pertinent documents and proof for such a visit.

A B-1 visa is a temporary visit visa for those who will be engaging in some business in the country. This means that the person who is applying for this visa is going to the U.S. for certain business related activities. These activities may involve the transaction of a certain business deal in the country, a business meeting with associates within the U.S., a trade fair or exhibition that the person's business is registered to join or other such business oriented reasons.

As with any visitor's temporary visa, the B-1 visa is subject to certain terms and conditions. The person who is applying for such a visa needs to present the following:

-         a visa application for non-immigrants or the form DS-156

-         the form DS-157 which is a supplemental non-immigrant visa form

-         valid passport

-         2x2 picture

Aside from these required forms that need to be filled up, a person applying for a B-1 visa also needs to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they are indeed only coming to the U.S. for a temporary visit and that they will indeed return to their country of origin when the time for them to do so is at hand.

The proof of such intent lies within the documents the person presents upon the interview as well as how he behaves and answers the questions during such an interview. Among the proof that a person may need to present would be proof of having sufficient funds for use in their visit to the U.S., proof of the importance of such a visit to the country and proof that they will indeed come back to their home country after the time they asked for in the U.S. is over. 

All these will be ascertained by the interviewing consul officer in the country you are in and whether or not you are allowed entry into the United States is dependent upon the impression that the interviewing consul officer gets from you and your supporting papers. Some other supporting papers that a B-1 visa applicant may provide to convince a consulate officer that they are truly heading for the U.S. on the reasons that they are presenting are supporting documents from the people in the U.S. that state that it is indeed imperative that they go the U.S. for such business reasons.

These may be in the form of sponsorship letters from the company's head or superiors, a letter of invitation from a certain trade fair or exhibit organization and even a legal document that states that the person asking for the visa is indeed required to be in the U.S. for the completion of certain business transactions.
